Frequently Asked Questions
-
Wear something comfortable that allows you to move and practice safely — athletic wear, stretchy pants, or dresses that won’t restrict movement. Depending on your wedding outfit, it’s not a bad idea to bring or wear something similar to what you'll have on for the big day. Wedding dresses, suits, and specialty shoes can feel more restrictive, so practicing in something comparable at least once can help you prepare. What to Wear to Your Wedding Dance Lesson (Blog)
-
Smooth-soled shoes (like leather-soled dress shoes or ballroom practice shoes) work best. Avoid rubber soles, heavy boots, or sneakers. Even for grooms and groomsmen, we recommend bringing or wearing something similar to your wedding shoes — it helps you get used to the feel and balance ahead of time.
-
Our private wedding dance lessons are 45 minutes long — long enough to learn, refine, and practice at a relaxed pace. Want extra time? You can book two sessions back-to-back for a 90-minute extended lesson.
-
No experience needed — seriously. Most of our couples are total beginners, and our instructors are pros at making you feel confident and comfortable on the dance floor.
-
Not at all! Your First Dance can be anything you want — a slow waltz, romantic rumba, upbeat salsa or swing, or even a surprise break into hip hop. We help you choose a style that reflects your personalities and energy as a couple.
-
Absolutely! You can choose any song that’s meaningful to you. If you’re unsure, our instructors can offer suggestions, or you can purchase our Wedding Song List — an online product updated regularly with our top picks across different genres and moods.
-
Our most popular packages are the Silver Package (6 lessons) and the Gold Package (10 lessons). If you’re short on time or want something simple, Silver is a great choice. If you want a bit more polish, more time to rehearse, or a more intricate routine, Gold is ideal.
-
We recommend keeping it around 2 to 2.5 minutes. Even professional performances are usually capped around that length. It might feel longer than expected on the day, especially with all eyes on you — but ultimately, it’s your moment, and we’ll help you make it feel just right. If you need your song edited down, we offer music editing services as an add-on.
-
Ideally, start 3 to 6 months before your wedding. Starting early gives you time to feel confident and comfortable without rushing. That said, we've helped couples in tight timelines too — so reach out anytime!
-
All lessons, packages, and services are valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. After that, any unused sessions expire. That said, we’re very flexible — life happens, and we’re happy to work with you on scheduling.
-
No stress! We’re happy to suggest options based on your style, vibe, and dance goals. You can also purchase our curated Wedding Song List, which we update regularly with new ideas and crowd favorites.
